Interview with the 3 Jury Members who judged 32 developer portal nominations over 9 award categories for the 2020 Devportal Awards.

The goal of the DevPortal Awards is to recognize the best developer portals and learn from their practices. In this post, we share the Q&A we did with the teams that made their portal an awarded success!

How can API portals enhance user experience in general, and pay special attention to developer experience? How can design elements support usability and content? What makes a devportal, in overall, stand out against competitors? We highlight the criteria that we think define the categories Best New DX Innovation, Best Design, and Best Overall Developer Portal and we include examples taken from last year’s nominated devportals.

In our previous post we already shared the jury’s reasoning for choosing the winners, but of course we were thrilled to hear the opinion of the other side, the teams that made their portal an awarded success!

What are the world's best devportals? What do they do differently? Are there any best practices that everybody could and/or should be doing? Our primary aim with the Devportal Awards was to answer these questions - or at least trigger a discussion about them.
