Scoreshare presentation at SzegedBoost

A few weeks ago I held a presentation about one of the products we are working on: Scoreshare - Your Social Scoreboard, a mobile application that makes it easy for sport fans to keep and share the scores of a game.

A group of startup enthusiasts in Szeged – where our Hungarian office is located – organized SzegedBoost, a community where you can learn more about the startup world. Their goal is no less than helping local startup companies rise and shine, and we are proud to have Zsófi Major, our colleague as one of the organizers. In cooperation with the SZTE Innovation Club they arranged an event called the "Night of Crazy Ideas" with a very simple concept: Bring your idea regardless how crazy or (not fully) developed it is, and hold a pitch about it in 3 minutes.

That's where Scoreshare came in.

We've been working steady on the project since November. We involved designers and UX artists in the design phase, later people from the local university joined and worked on the Windows 8 Mobile integration. Things were going great and we were eager to show it to the world. We got our chance with the Night of Crazy Ideas, so we immediately started working on our presentation. With a little magic we put together a few promo images, downloaded a world map from Google Analytics, that showed our users’ locations from all around the globe, and turned everything into a 5 slide long presentation.

When the time came to hold the presentation, I was really nervous. We had some trouble connecting our computer to the projector and I almost had to hold my pitch without my slides. Eventually we had everything sorted out and I began my speech. I hardly remember anything I said, the next clear image in my head was seeing the audience's and the jury's applause. Let me admit I was really happy. Then the questions came. A lot of them. Everyone was excited and wanted to know more. In the next couple of days we had two interviews for newspapers (one of them a really famous economic newspaper) and an interview with the local TV. We also raised interest from some investors. I have to say, I still can't believe it.

We're still working hard on getting Scoreshare to the next level. Our next stop in public is Hackathon in a Box a few weeks from now. I hope we can still reach awesome results with the Scoreshare team, where I am proud to work with awesome people. And after that? Maybe Seedcamp? Who knows.

If you got interested in our app, you can download it to your iPhone from the Apple Store and to Android from the Google Play Store. We have a lot of ideas in mind, so keep yourself updated on our Facebook page!
