Earlier last week I got a call from my boss asking if I would mind visiting Szeged to work with one of our partners there on an important project our company, Acquia is engaged in with Pronovix. Since I've always loved the city of Szeged, plus the call of 28 degrees of sunshine was more than enough motivation, he found it rather easy to convince me.
Some of you might recall Szeged from the famous Drupalcon Szeged in 2008, it was the place where according to the rumours some English Drupalists first got to discover the meaning of the word "summer". The city hasn't changed much, it’s still the same, with the chilled out atmosphere with bicycles and sleepy locals going on about their business. But in the past few years something has still changed. Pronovix has grown quite a bit since Kristof started the company. Once confined to a bedroom office, the company now occupies the whole third floor of a smaller office building near downtown Szeged and are nowhere near slowing down the momentum. I was asked to augment the Pronovix team as part of the end-sprint of our current international project, the complete redesign of the web presence of a well known business school in the UK. It was nothing out of the ordinary, only a few challenges faced and conquered. Perhaps there was one thing that I still couldn't completely solve: the task of getting out of one of those bean bags that are casually dropped in at the main areas of the office, where a group of various developers, project managers and designers exchanged ideas and collaborated on various projects. I had a great time there, thanks to the lads and lasses of Pronovix for having me. If you are in the area and are thinking about working with them I can only recommend giving them a chance.
